The wines presented by Bodegas Castelo de Medina obtained two Gold Medals (Syté 2008 and Castelo de Medina Sauvignon blanc 2012), three Silver Medals (Castelo de Medina Verdejo 2012, Castelo Noble 2011 and Castelo de Medina Verdejo Vendimia Seleccionada 2011) and one Bronze, which went to Real Castelo 2012.
At the beginning of July, the organisers of the International Wine Guide 2013 announced the results of this year's competition. Bodegas Castelo de Medina has won two Gold Medals, three Silver Medals and one Bronze Medal.
The Gold Medals awarded to the winery went to Syté 2008 and Castelo de Medina Sauvignon blanc 2012, which joined those it received at the 2012 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and at the 2013 Bacchus Wine International Competition 2013, respectively.
The three Silver Medals obtained by the Bodegas Castelo de Medina wines went to Castelo de Medina Verdejo 2012, Castelo de Medina Verdejo Vendimia Seleccionada 2011 and Castelo Noble 2011, which have joined other rewards given to some of the vintages produced by the winery, particularly Castelo de Medina Verdejo 2012.
Finally, the only Bronze Medal obtained by the winery in Villaverde de Medina went to Real Castelo 2012, which joined the Zarcillo de Oro it received recently.
The 2013 edition of the International Wine Guide analysed 2,425 wines from 29 different countries. A total of 728 received prizes, representing around 30% of the samples submitted to the competition.
