Four wines elaborated by Bodegas Castelo de Medina have reached 91 points, while another wine achieved 90 points. Moreover, also five wines from the winery have reached the maximum of 5 stars that Penin Guide gives to the best value for money wines.
New Castelo de Medina Verdejo Vendimia Seleccionada 2012 has been named Best Spanish White Wine of the Year in the Mundus Vini 2013 competition, where it has won a Gold Medal.
Castelo de Medina Verdejo 2012 and new Castelo de Medina Verdejo Vendimia Seleccionada 2012, have been ranked among the 100 Best Spanish Wines in the United Kingdom. Bodegas Castelo de Medina is the only winery in Castilla y León to be featured with two wines on this prestigious list.
Real Castelo 2012 and Castelo de la Dehesa 2012 received a Silver Medal in their category (white wines costing less than 7.5 Euro) and will therefore appear in the winter edition of the prestigious German magazine.
Castelo de Medina Verdejo Vendimia Seleccionada 2011 and Vega Busiel 2009 have been selected for recommendation as “Wines for Autumn” by German magazine Selection, one of the leading publications in the country.
The wines presented by Bodegas Castelo de Medina obtained two Gold Medals (Syté 2008 and Castelo de Medina Sauvignon blanc 2012), three Silver Medals (Castelo de Medina Verdejo 2012, Castelo Noble 2011 and Castelo de Medina Verdejo Vendimia Seleccionada 2011) and one Bronze, which went to Real Castelo 2012.
The results of the 15th edition of the Zarcillo Awards 2013 were announced on 5 June. The event has resumed after a four-year break and more than 1,800 wines from 469 wineries took part.
The wines winning the Silver Medal were Castelo de Medina Verdejo 2012 and Castelo de Medina Sauvignon blanc 2012, while the Bronze Medal went to Castelo de Medina Verdejo Vendimia Seleccionada 2011.
The signature red wine produced by Bodegas Castelo de Medina received a Bronze Medal in a competition where the International Jury also granted a Recommendation to Castelo de Medina Verdejo 2012 and Castelo de Medina Sauvignon Blanc 2012.
The 100% verdejo produced by Bodegas Castelo de Medina was one of only three Spanish white wines to receive a Grand Gold Medal, the top prize in this competition.
